Service Update – Severe Weather Impact | Updated 22 May 2025
22nd May 2025
Due to ongoing severe weather conditions, there are significant disruptions to our operations across multiple regions. Please see the latest updates below:
Pacific Highway Closure
The Pacific Highway remains closed between Taree and Moorland, and this closure is expected to continue throughout today and potentially into Friday morning.
Taree
- The DFE depot remains closed and will not reopen until access and power are restored.
- The depot has been flooded with approximately 700mm of water, resulting in substantial freight damage. Assessment and recovery will begin once safe access is available.
- All trucks have been moved to higher ground for protection.
- No power or access is currently available in the region.
- We anticipate being approximately one week behind on deliveries in the area.
Port Macquarie
- Freight ex NSW (20.05.25) arrived late last night and is being delivered today.
- Freight ex NSW (21.05.25) has been held overnight; we will reassess and update later today.
- Freight ex QLD (21.05.25) is currently stored in Coffs Harbour due to road closures and will be collected tonight (22.05.25).
- We are operating with reduced workforce (approx. 50%) due to staff being affected by flooding.
- Deliveries limited to Port Macquarie CBD due to flooding in the Laurieton area.
- Agent access remains cut off and is expected to remain inaccessible for several days.
Coffs Harbour
- Freight ex NSW (20.05.25) arrived late last night and is out for delivery today.
- Freight ex NSW (21.05.25) has been redirected to QLD for southbound delivery tonight (22.05.25).
- Freight ex QLD (21.05.25) is operating on the normal schedule.
Newcastle
- Multiple outer areas are inaccessible due to flooding; most areas serviced by our agent cannot currently be reached.
- There is widespread local flooding across Newcastle, Hunter, and Port Stephens. We will continue operations where access is possible.
Ballina & Grafton
- Delays in freight ex Sydney, but otherwise operating as per normal schedule.
- ETA into Ballina is approximately 9:00 – 9:30 AM.

Service Disruption – Pacific Highway Closures and Weather Impact
21st May 2025
Due to severe weather and rising water levels, the Pacific Highway is currently closed in two locations with no estimated time of reopening:
- Taree (south to Moorland)
- Kew to Thrumster
As a result, the following service disruptions apply:
- Taree Depot: Closed until further notice. Freight for the Taree region is currently 2 days behind. We have no access to the depot, so no freight will be scanned until we are able to return.
- Port Macquarie & Coffs Harbour Freight (Ex Sydney 20/05): This freight was turned around at Taree due to highway closures and returned to Sydney. We will reassess later today to determine the best course of action. This freight is currently 1 day behind. All freight will be scanned upon arrival at Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour depots. Please note that freight ex-QLD has been delivered in these regions.
- Port Macquarie Agent: Access is completely cut off. Freight for this agent will be held at the Port Macquarie depot until conditions allow for safe delivery.
- Newcastle / Hunter Region: Multiple areas are experiencing localised flooding and road closures. With water levels still rising, we anticipate additional areas may become inaccessible.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
